POLICE have warned that the families of anti-social teenagers in Nailsworth could face eviction if the behaviour continues.

Gloucestershire Police’s new mounted unit will visit the town tomorrow evening as part of an initiative to tackle the ongoing problem.

A group of 12 teenagers, thought to be aged between 14 and 17, are responsible, and have been causing growing concern to residents with their behaviour.

Inspector Andy Poole said: “I’m concerned about the families involved, and the kids are going to have to make some decisions quickly.

“We will go out and seize alcohol and take young people back to their parents.

“But, if the families come from Stroud District Council housing properties, we work in partnership with the council, and they will receive letters saying they are liable for eviction if they continue causing chaos.”

Insp Poole said there was a “great deal of strength” in working alongside the council to prevent ongoing behavioural issues from groups of children and young people.
