A BEAUTY queen from Hardwicke is raising money to support injured armed services personnel.

Miss Gloucester Galaxy, Danielle Ferin, is now representing Gloucestershire as one of 20 finalists from the UK in the Miss Scuba 2016 Pageant.

The 24-year-old receptionist and phlebotomist at Rowcroft Medical Centre is holding a series of events over the next few months to raise money for her chosen charity Deptherapy.

As part of Help for Heroes, Deptherapy is a unique British-based charity which presently seeks to rehabilitate the seriously injured British Services Personnel through the medium of scuba diving.

To kick-start her efforts, Danielle will be holding a pub quiz, auction and raffle at The Bell in Sapperton on Sunday, June 26.

This will be followed by a second pub quiz with a disco and raffle at The Kings Head in Stroud at the end of July.

She is asking local businesses and chain stores in Stroud to donate prizes for the events.

“Raising money for charity is a fundamental part of my life. My goal is to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause,” she said.
