GLOUCESTER Library is holding a job fair on Friday September 30, and is inviting all job seekers to come along to speak to organisations and potentially find a new career.

There will be local volunteer groups, apprenticeship companies, employers and recruitment agencies at the event and a variety of job types.

The fair will take place between 2pm – 4pm and the fair is free for everyone, with no need to book in advance.

In addition to the fair, libraries across Gloucestershire can play a vital part in finding employment opportunities by providing public network computers, the virtual reference library and assistance with job applications and CV’s through their computer buddy volunteers.

It is free to join the library, all that is needed is proof of name and current address.

Representatives from local course providers will also be available to discuss any training needs they can help with.

Cllr Andrew Gravells, cabinet member for public health and libraries, said: “The library service has always helped people looking for work and I am really keen for us to continue doing so.

“The job fair at Gloucester Library will be a fantastic chance for job seekers to come along and find out about different organisations, and potentially find a new career.”

The event is free for everyone and there is no need to book in advance. Gloucester Library is located on Brunswick Road, Gloucester GL1 1HT.
