A 'BEAUTIFUL' vigil was held in Stroud last night to remember Brianna Ghey.
Brianna, a transgender girl from Birchwood in Warrington, was found with fatal wounds on a path in nearby Culcheth Linear Park on Saturday, February 11.
LGBTQ+ communities across the country have been remembering the 16-year-old.
A candlelit vigil was organised by Stroud Pride on Sunday evening, where those who attended walked down the High Street before placing candles in St Laurence's Church.
"It was very beautiful and well attended," said one of the organisers.
"I'm proud of Stroud.
"The death of Brianna Ghey has been keenly felt by the LGBTQ+ community around the UK.
"It has horribly illustrated the fear that transgender people are currently living under in the UK.
"Vigils have been organised across the country to allow LGBTQ+ people and their allies to come together, grieve and reflect.
"We want something like this to never happen again, so as a country this moment of reflection is important."
