Following their recent success at the Western Counties Photographic Federation Inter-Club Championship at Exeter at the beginning of February, Stroud Camera Club has just held the fifth club competition of the current season.

It was a high-scoring event with some memorable images in both the Digitally Projected and Prints sections. The guest judge for the competition was Steve Varman LRPS (https://stevevarman.co.uk/) whose critique of every image was detailed, thoughtful and much appreciated by the club members.

In the Prints section, Geoff Perrett took the top score of 20 points with his atmospheric image “A Selfy In Sicily,” closely followed by Leslie Holmes’s two prints, “Chinstrap Penguin” and “Cheetah Cubs” each of which scored 19. Roger Matthews scored 18 points with his striking image “Bite” and Jeff Wilson had two successes with “The Portrait” and “The Beauty In Black And White” each also scoring 18 points.

In the Digitally Projected section, Leslie Holmes had further success with her image of a Giraffe “Poking Up” scoring the maximum 20 points and her “African Fish Eagle” with 18. Trish Bloodworth’s beautiful “Viva Magenta” scored 19 points and her “Wild Colt Foal” completed the high score lineup with 18 points.
