A NEW HAIR salon with a difference has opened in Stroud.

Curl Central, based in Kendrick Street, is the first salon in the town to be dedicated 'exclusively' to curly hair.

The salon is located on the top floor at Rasmachaz which last year moved a few doors down from its previous location in the same street.

Rasmachaz is a charity shop which sells vintage clothes and other items, with the money raised going to help refugees across the world.

Owner Jed Vaughan said: "I started the salon as I wanted to create a curl haven where curly-haired individuals can feel understood, valued, and empowered.

Stroud News and Journal: A salon for curly hair has opened in Stroud"My commitment is not only to cut and style hair using the curl by curl cutting method (founded by Loraine Massey), but to also offer product and care education so that people can celebrate their natural curls fully.

"It’s been an absolutely wonderful first couple of weeks at the salon, and I’m blown away by all the positive feedback I have received.

"I’m really looking forward to the Curl Central future here in Stroud.

"Rasmachaz has really thrived since its relocation to 20 Kendrick Street, which has enabled us to send donations to Refugee Community Kitchen and ensuring hot meals reach displaced people in Calais, London, and Edinburgh."
